Industrial Cameras FAQ/Frame rate does not increase [...

Frame rate does not increase [GigE camera](No.1462)

There is possibility that it is connected at 100Base-T.

Teli's GigE camera requires the bandwidth of GigabitEithernet(1000Mbps). If there is 100Base-T device existing in the pathway of camera through PC, then the camera is connected to PC at 100Base-T.

The link speed can be confirmed on the PC.
It is shown on the network tab of task manager in case of Windows7.

Explanation about the bandwidth
In case of BG030, the following bandwidth is necessary to transfer the camera image data:
  640[pix]*480[pix]*8[bit]*125=307.2[Mbps]
Actually, the data will be transferred as isolated packet, and the packet amount will be increased if necessary data needs to be added to the packet.
On the other hand, since the bandwidth that can be transmitted by 100Base-T is 100[Mbps] only, it takes 3 times to send the data of 300Mbps
Because of this, the frame rate will be decreased to 125/3=42[fps].
